Waltham Watch Company, also known as the American Waltham Watch Company, was founded in Waltham, Massachusetts, in 1850. The company played a significant role in the history of watchmaking in the United States and produced some of the most highly regarded timepieces of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

In pristine condition, this vintage Waltham dress pocket watch dates back to 1936. It is a manual wind pocket watch, powered by an original Waltham mechanical movement grade No. 1217 featuring 17 jewels, model 1894, size 12s. This open-face timepiece features a sub-second hand and was made in the U.S.A.
It has an analog display with the original two-tone silver dial, adorned with gold Arabic numerals, a black "railroad" minute track, and matching blued steel hands. The sub-second hand is positioned at 6 o'clock, featuring a "railroad" second track with Arabic numerals at each 10-second interval. The dial is further enhanced by a finely engraved center decoration, elegantly complemented by the Waltham name at the top.
Cased in a 44.4mm round case, 10K yellow rolled gold plate. It also comes with a two-piece pocket watch chain (27 cm each side) and the original Waltham display box.
Great looking and functioning pocket watch that one can either use or keep in a collection.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
